History of Gum Gardeners Study Club

The Gum Gardeners Study Club was founded in 1978 by a small group of Dental Hygienists in Portland Oregon. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit study club, exclusively for licensed Dental Hygienists. Our purpose has been to further our education in the field of Dental Hygiene, offering courses that meet the license requirement of the state. We work in conjunction with the Oregon Board of Dentistry, to offer approved courses, in effort to fulfill the continuing education requirement for dental hygiene licensing. We maintain a regular sign-in sheet or digital record for each lecture and keep these on record for a minimum of four years. Each attendee also receives their own certificate for CPR should they attend that class. Our class schedules are available on our website at www.gumgardeners.org. Dues are paid at the beginning of our season, which starts on the fourth Monday of September, in the amount of 68.00. This pays for all lectures and CPR should the member choose to attend.
